As in previous years, a new Android version will appear in 2023, which will probably be called “Android 14”. So every year the same question arises: Which smartphones will receive the update to Android 14? Aside from the usual pixel suspects, this article lists the phones that manufacturers have promised the Android 14 update for, either directly or through their update promises
With numerous manufacturers enhancing their update policies in 2022, it is anticipated that the frequency of Android 14 updates will be further improved. For flagship devices in particular, the biggest brands are now promising at least three Android updates as standard, but unfortunately not all of them have extended the revised guidelines to older models.
First the note: Android 14 has not yet been officially announced – and there are still a few months until Google I/O in May 2023. However, based on the various update promises and the rollouts of previous Android versions, we can already predict a whole range of smartphones that will receive the Android 14 update.
Update (05/11/2023): We updated this post after the Google I/O 2023 and thus after the start of the Android 14 Beta 2. We added several new models to the lists and noted which devices are already upgradable to the Android 14 beta.
