One of the design elements that differentiates the base models from their premium iPhones is the placement of the rear camera modules. With the iPhone 11, Apple used a vertically arranged dual camera and switched to a diagonal positioning in the iPhone 13, which is also expected to be used in the iPhone 15. If the current rumors are to be believed, the Cupertino-based company could return to the vertical arrangement of the base model of the iPhone 16.
- Apple is said to make the iPhone 16 unmistakable with a new camera arrangement.
- It is suspected that Apple will use a vertical dual camera setup similar to the iPhone 12.
- The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus could then share the design.
The Apple iPhone 16 and the dual main camera
While Apple will unveil the iPhone 15 in the coming months, we can already report on the developments of the Apple iPhone 16. Prominent Apple leaker URedditor predicts that the standard iPhone 16 will launch with a vertical camera orientation similar to that of the iPhone 11 or iPhone 12. At the same time, it would be a distinctive element and would make the device easily recognizable as a new model.
While the report is only for the iPhone 16, it’s likely to include the larger iPhone 16 Plus as well. Both devices could also feature identical camera specifications, such as a dual lens and potentially larger and thicker camera rings.
Apple iPhone 16 Pro (Max) screen
The same source had previously published alleged details about a major change in the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Accordingly, Apple is increasing the screen area for the two Premium models, with the latter making a jump from 0.2 inches to a total diagonal of 6.3 inches, while the Pro Max is said to be 6.9 inches and also around 0.2 inch increases.
In addition to the new display sizes, both iPhone 16 Pro models could get a periscope camera, which was previously only found on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. It has also been rumored that the 2023 iPhones Pro will feature the next generation of Dynamic Island with Face ID sensors under the screen, while the larger model could be renamed the iPhone 16 Ultra.
