Some go (Oppo and OnePlus) and others come back! At least in the case of the Android pioneer HTC from Taiwan. Because the NextPit editorial team actually received the news from the German press agency that the HTC U23 Pro would be available for 549 euros from today. Yes, let’s say it politely: Welcome back to the year 2023 HTC! Let’s take a look at the Android smartphone in detail, shall we?
- HTC returns to German retail shelves with the U23 Pro
- The recommended retail price for the smartphone is 549 euros.
- A Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 and a 108 MP main camera are installed
- If you purchase before June 4, 2023, you will receive a complimentary pair of HTC True Wireless Earbuds Plus, valued at 79 euros. 79 euros for free
Welcome back HTC U23 Pro!
Hands up, who else knows the Taiwanese company HTC as a smartphone manufacturer? Yes, that’s what I thought – but the forefather of the Android smartphone seems to be back on German shelves. And that with a not so badly equipped HTC U23 Pro. This marvel of Taiwanese smartphone art has installed a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, which, together with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB of internal program memory that can be expanded via a microSD card, wants to scare the competition. Well – maybe not.
The main camera of the HTC U23 Pro sparks high expectations, but the quad camera setup disappoints as it consists of a 108 main, an 8 MP ultra wide-angle and a 5 MP -Macro Camera. Oh, of course I don’t want to withhold the 2 MP portrait snaps from you. Well at least the close-up camera doesn’t get the measly resolution.
The HTC U23 Pro actually has everything it needs!
The U23 Pro, measuring 166.6 x 77.1 x 8.9 mm and certified with IP67, features a 6.7-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels. It includes a 32 MP front camera, discreetly placed in a punch hole design at the top center . The screen offers a refresh rate of 120 Hz and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. According to the data sheet, the battery delivers 4,600 mAh and can be charged quickly using the included 30 W power adapter (15 W wireless).
Near Field Communication (NFC) for contactless payment is also on board, as are the connectivity standards Bluetooth 5.2 and WLAN in the 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz network. And not only is the mentioned microSD card support offered, but the good old analogue jack is celebrating its rebirth. Who would have thought it: Android 13 is already pre-installed.
The smartphone is then available in the colors coffee black and snow white for just 549 euros. Until June 4, 2023 you will even get a free pair of HTC True Wireless Earbuds Plus worth EUR 79 on top.
