Honor 90 and Honor 90 Pro will be released on May 29th with 200 MP camera

The former Huawei subsidiary Honor will probably present us with a few new Android smartphones in a week. In addition to the Honor Play 40, which is located more in the lower middle class with a Snapdragon 480+, we expect the Honor 90 in the upper middle class and the Honor 90 Pro in the semi-flagship class. The latter is likely to have a 200 MP main camera and a flagship processor from last year.

  • On May 29, 2023, Honor is scheduled to unveil the Honor 90 series.
  • As in the previous year, the manufacturer installs a 200 MP main camera
  • A Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor is expected

Honor 90 series with a slight facelift

Only in November last year did the former Huawei subsidiary Honor present three Android smartphones with the Honor 80 series. With the Honor 80 Pro, the Honor 80 and 80 SE, the group uses a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, a Snapdragon 782G from Qualcomm and a Dimensity 900 from MediaTek. The highlight of the event was likely the 200 MP primary camera, although it ultimately produced a resolution of only 160 MP. Why am I telling you this?

Well – the well-known and reliable tipster “Whylab” has now leaked a handful of photos on the Chinese network Sina Weibo, which show the successors, the Honor 90 and Honor 90 Pro, which will be officially released next week Monday, May 29th are to be presented. And about the Pro model, the colleague also mentioned a few facts that are suspiciously similar to last year’s model.

Same processor and same image sensor

So this year there is talk of a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which is supposed to power the Honor 90 Pro. The same flagship SoC (System on a Chip) was recently announced for the Nothing Phone (2). And again it’s from a 200 MP camera based on Samsung’s ISOCELL HP3. However, this year, the Chinese company appears to be fully unleashing the potential of the image sensor. The quad-curved display also seems to have stayed the same with a resolution of 2,700 x 1,224 pixels.

Furthermore, the many photos showing the four optional colors of the two Honor 90 series models with Star Diamond Silver, Gradient Blue, Dark Jade Green and Bright Black. The poster released on the Honor Mall already unveils a unique display feature known as “ZREAL,” which is believed to represent “Zero Risk Dimming Eye Protection Screen.” The battery, on the other hand, has a capacity of 5,000 mAh and can be charged quickly with the basic model with 66 W and the Pro model with 100 W. However, the charging voltage values are derived from a 3C certification. We are definitely excited to see what awaits us there!
