Mobvoi is giving away unreleased TicWatch Pro 5

At the latest after the TicWatch Pro 5 was certified by the FCC (Federal Communications Commission), we were informed about a new WearOS smartwatch from the Chinese manufacturer. Now Mobvoi is giving away 10 of the unpublished smart watches via social networks. This means that an official presentation – including the start of sales – is imminent this month.

  • Mobvoi is giving away 10x TicWatch Pro 5
  • The smart watch uses WearOS from Google as the operating system
  • A launch of the TicWatch Pro is imminent
  • A certification has already confirmed the Snapdragon Wear 5100+

Mobvoi verlost 10x TicWatch Pro 5

The Chinese wearables manufacturer Mobvoi took up the fight against the mediocre battery life of a WearOS smartwatch early on with its dual-layer display technology. The group will probably soon present us with the TicWatch Pro 5, which has already been certified by the US Communications Devices Agency (FCC). At least that’s what the current raffle (from May 14th to 23rd) of 10x TicWatch Pro 5 suggests. Because the WearOS smartwatch has not yet been officially presented to us.

I don’t think it’s a big secret that, as a wearer of the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra, I’m a big fan of dual-layer display technology. Should mean two superimposed displays – a monochrome FSTN LCD display and a typical colored OLED panel underneath – which should guarantee a runtime of 2 weeks. The same principle is now also used for the TicWatch Pro 5, where the smartwatch should even bring up 80 hours of smart mode and 45 days of essential mode with just one battery charge (611 mAh) due to the energy-efficient Snapdragon 5100+. Of course, the NextPit editors would like to see for themselves.

Other specifications that have become known are two 1.43-inch displays (400 x 400 px), 2 GB of working memory and 32 GB of internal program memory, NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, 2.4 GHz WiFi, heart and SpO2 sensors and GPS satellite reception for Tracking the running route. Because with over 100 supported sports modes, there should also be something for running training on the smart watch.

Unfortunately, there is no exact launch date yet. But since the #HighfivePro5 campaign is limited to May 23, 2023 and the TicWatch Pro 5 should reach the lucky winners by June 1, 2023, the event date can only be between these days. It should be exciting again which version of Wear OS will be preinstalled on the new TicWatch Pro 5. Because current models like the TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra are still running on WearOS 2.41, although the group has already announced WearOS 4.0 at Google I/O 2023.
