This year, more manufacturers have released foldable smartphones than ever before. Motorola is expected to present two foldables in a clamshell design in the near future. For the Android smartphone rumored to be the Motorola Razr 40, more footage has now surfaced and reveals the colors and price, which shouldn’t please Samsung at all.
- Official looking images of the Motorola Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra have been leaked.
- The Razr 40 will be available in purple, cream, and green colors.
- Motorola is expected to announce the foldable phones on June 1st.
- The Motorola Razr 40 will cost 899 euros in Europe.
Motorola Razr 40 (Ultra)
Motorola has set June 1 as the launch date, when the Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra are likely to launch. From all appearances, we don’t have to wait for the launch event to know what they will look like and how much they will cost.
The official looking renders of the base model of the Motorola Razr 40 have now been shared by “MySmartPrice”. They show details on the color variants of the device, which comes in three colors: purple, dark green and cream. All three variants come with a structured back that is more reminiscent of leather. The water droplets seen on one of the images on the device suggest that the device is waterproof – maybe even with an IP certification.

The price is going to be tough for Samsung
As for pricing, SamInsider snapped a screenshot of the alleged European pricing for the Motorola Razr 40. Accordingly, the base model with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage space is sold for 899 euros. That suggests that the US price could also be $899, albeit before taxes.
In comparison, the price is significantly cheaper than that of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 (test), which costs 1,099 euros in Europe. This probably makes the more expensive Motorola Razr 40 Ultra more comparable to Samsung’s folding foldable, which may have the same storage capacity as the Razr 40.
Motorola Razr 40 Ultra
Separately, well-known leaker “Evan Blass” has also released a series of renders of the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra. The foldable Motorola smartphone is available in red, blue and black. Also, the larger 3.2-inch display was unveiled, backing up initial reports.
The Motorola Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra are set to be officially unveiled next month. The clamshell foldable duo reportedly runs Android 13 and is powered by last year’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. If Samsung actually installs the newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in the unannounced Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5, the South Korean manufacturer could once again differ from Motorola in its product portfolio.
