OnePlus itself officially announced at a press conference at the MWC 2023 in Barcelona that the group plans to present its first foldable with the OnePlus Fold in the second half of the year. Now there is a media report that claims that the OnePlus Gold in question is identical to the Oppo Find N3 that is also expected.
OnePlus Fold and Oppo Find N3 are said to be one and the same smartphone
As a result, both foldables also have an identical, foldable 8-inch QHD+ display
A Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is suspected on board
OnePlus Fold and Oppo Find N3 with the identical specs and design

I’ll write it off the top of my head: The Indian publication “91mobile” delivers an exclusive report that more or less announces that the OnePlus Fold and the Oppo Find N3 will become one and the same smartphone. In principle, it would even be technically possible, since OnePlus is a subsidiary of Oppo. In practice, it sounds a bit absurd to my ears. Why bring two foldables onto the market that differ neither optically nor technically?
- Don’t miss: The best foldable smartphones of 2023
Because according to the price comparison website, which has often reported technical data in the past that has not been confirmed, both foldable smartphones should have an 8-inch QHD + OLED display. On the outside it would be a 6.5-inch AMOLED display, which, like the foldable inner display, should have a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
The drive should – logically in both cases – take over the latest flagship processor from Qualcomm, which should be a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 according to the current state of the art. In addition, there should be 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal program memory. I also only see these values in a maximum configuration. In terms of camera technology, the report specifies a 32 MP front camera and a triple camera on the back for both the Oppo Find N3 and the OnePlus Fold.
Camera data were already known
A 50 MP optically stabilized main camera is speculated here, which is to be flanked by a 48 MP ultra wide-angle and a 32 MP periscope camera. These values have actually already been announced by other parties. Finally, the source states that both foldables have a 4,800 mAh battery that can be charged quickly with the included 80 W power adapter.
- We were already able to test the predecessor, the OnePlus 12: It’s time for a periscope camera with extended zoom, for you.
For my part, I view this information with skepticism. Although the site names tipster Yogesh Brar, who is no stranger to the scene, as a source, he occasionally appears as an author on the homepage. Both companies are withdrawing from the European market due to a lost patent lawsuit against Nokia. A restructuring or downsizing of the portfolio would make sense. Then please either the OnePlus Fold already teased by Pete Lau (OnePlus CEO) or the Oppo Find N3. At least the leaker “Max Jambor” claims that the OnePlus Fold will be released in August. We’ll see what comes true in the end
