Samsung is known for its very good update policy. This year, however, the South Korean company could surpass itself again. Even before Google presented the next Android version in detail, Samsung is said to have already started to adapt its software for it.
Android 14 for Samsung phones in development
Although Samsung delivers Android updates relatively quickly, it also likes to take a little longer with new Android versions. The reason for this is its own interface, which requires a lot of adjustments and usually also brings new functions. Android 14 is not just distributed on Samsung phones, it comes directly with One UI 6.0. This is exactly what Samsung is supposed to be working on now.
Samsung is testing a first version of Android 14 with One UI 6.0 for the Galaxy S23 Ultra. It should also be clear that the Galaxy S23 smartphones will receive the update first. But that was not it. Samsung is said to be working on updating the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4. The current folding cell phones should also be supplied relatively quickly.
Exactly what changes Samsung is introducing to its smartphones with Android 14 and One UI 6.0 is not yet known in detail. It is clear, however, that the update to the new Android version could appear even earlier this year. In the last two years, Samsung has already brought forward the release of the new Android versions. So Android 14 could come relatively quickly.
Android 14 schedule
According to Google’s schedule, Android 14 should appear in a first stable version from June 2023. From then on, manufacturers should step up development. The final version will appear from August 2023. Then it shouldn’t be long before Samsung supplies its smartphones. It is already known what that will be.
