Will the Apple iPhone 16 Pro come with a larger display?

The screen size of the Apple iPhone 14 Pro has remained the same since the Apple iPhone 12 and is expected to remain the same for the iPhone 15 series, although Apple may add slightly curved bezels. However, a new report thinks that Apple will finally offer a larger display diagonal for the iPhone 16 Pro next year.

  • Apple is rumored to be increasing the display size of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
  • The iPhone 16 Pro could have a 6.3-inch display and the Pro Max a 6.9-inch.
  • Both models are said to have the same periscope zoom camera.

The Apple iPhone 16 Pro will be the “next big thing”

According to Apple enthusiast and leaker “URedditor” on Twitter, Apple will use larger displays in the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, which are expected in autumn 2024. The source indicated that the increase will only be marginal as the smaller iPhone Pro will get a 6.3-inch panel, while the Pro Max is heading for a 6.9-inch diagonal.

The gains, while small, are at least worth mentioning compared to the current panels from the Apple iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, which are 6.1 and 6.7 inches, respectively. At the same time, the tipster reveals that the new numbers are the dimensions of the panel, meaning it’s unclear how big the viewable area will ultimately be when you factor in corners, for example.

URedditor’s forecast is based on the report by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who published his latest updates on future iPhone models on the Medium portal. He believes the iPhone 16 Pro (Max) will have a larger screen. However, he didn’t name the actual sizes these iPhones will be.

Well-known analyst Kuo also mentioned that the periscope camera, previously found only in the iPhone 15 Pro Max, will be used in the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models. Also, said component could offer a lossless 5x to 6x zoom, which would be a significant increase over the current 2x lossless telephoto lens on the iPhone 14 Pro.
